Down by the Bay

With the icicles melting and flowers blooming, new beginnings are arriving with the Spring season.
I have been staying busy with school and family, but most importantly, starting a new business.

Going Ohm is an online boutique specializing in the must-haves every closet should include. As as World-conscious company, the clothes being offered are recycled and a portion of our profits benefit the Caspian Arts Foundation.

With intentions to launch the site on April 1st, I have been vigorously working away setting up the domain, planning photo shoots, and most importantly shopping.

As I was packing for my Spring break trip to California, I had an epiphany: to incorporate my love for traveling into the products of Going Ohm. While in the Bay Area, Mum and I have visited thrift stores to find one of a kind clothing and accessories. I'm so very excited to go back home and share them with my models and you!

I promise to visit my blog more often, and keep you updated on the many adventures of Jessi and Going Ohm.

Allow me to share the Bay with you!

Eye of Horus- For Good Fun.

Although this is not part of 20 Days of Makeup, I was still incredibly inspired to re-create Lady Gaga's Eye of Horus look. If you haven't caught the Tumblr post, seek the right column of the blog for the link.  When researching the Eye, I found very interesting information on the meanings behind each line.

[ THE EYE OF HORUS ]
The entire eye measured 1 heqat. And each of the parts of the eye measured fractions of the heqat.

These are the parts of the EYE and their corresponding associated fraction values :
1/641/321/16
1/81/41/2
The corresponding sense data are :
1/64 heqat Touch
1/32 heqat Taste
1/16 heqat Hearing
1/8 heqat Thought
1/4 heqat Sight
1/2 heqat Smell

This information only scratches the surface of the information behind the design. I found this data on www.aloha.net/~hawmtn/horus.htm.

Killer, eh?

For My Animal Friends.

As a believer in animal rights, I strive every day to keep meat out of my diet, and animal testing out of my cosmetics. The makeup I have featured as "favorites" throughout 20 Days of Makeup are all cruelty-free products based off the list found on Peta.org. I hope my compassion towards furry friends has inspired you to explore the "Do Not Test" list, and consider changing your brand devotion toward more ethical companies.
